2. Changes to These Terms

Greek Online Academy reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and registered students will be informed. Continued use of the services after such changes implies your acceptance of the updated terms.

3. Provision of Services

Greek Online Academy provides online Greek language and culture courses and learning materials, primarily designed for non-native speakers. Our students include expats, Greek or Cypriot heritage learners, people living in Greece or Cyprus who wish to improve their communication skills or pursue citizenship, as well as persons with a special interest in Greek language and Greek and Cypriot culture. This also includes travelers and anyone seeking to deepen their knowledge of the language and culture.

Our services include:

• Private one-on-one lessons
• Semi-private lessons (2 students)
• Group lessons (3 or more students)
• Custom courses on demand (e.g., Business Greek)
• In the near future, asynchronous courses (pre-recorded material and self-paced learning modules)

Classes take place via Zoom. Students should have a computer with a webcam and microphone, a stable internet connection, and basic computer skills. We provide access to learning platforms and apps with materials we manage and control. Access is personal and non-transferable — sharing login details or materials with others isn't allowed. Please note, we're not responsible for technical issues caused by third-party platforms like Zoom, though we always try to ensure smooth service.

4. Booking Regulations

• All lessons must be paid for in advance.
• Bookings are confirmed only after full payment.
• All trial lessons are available only to first-time users.
• Suggested course durations and completion timelines are indicative and based on average progress. Individual results may vary depending on personal effort, study habits, and prior knowledge.

Group Lesson Structure

All published group courses are subject to the minimum required number of students. If a course does not reach this number, it will not start. Students may be placed on a waiting list or offered an alternative type of lesson. In cases where a student has prepaid for a group course that is ultimately not formed, the student will receive a full refund.

Most of our A2–C2 level group courses are divided into two parts (e.g., A2a and A2b) across two seasons, in order to provide flexibility in scheduling and to better accommodate student needs. If a group (e.g., A2a) does not proceed to a following group (e.g., A2b), we will do our best to add new students and keep the group going. If this is not feasible, we will explore alternatives such as semi-private or private lessons.

5. Cancellation Policy

• Private lessons: At least 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations without charge. If the instructor cancels, a make-up lesson will be arranged with the student.
• Semi-private lessons: Cancellations can be made with at least 24 hours' notice without charge. Alternatively, if no cancellation is made, the lesson may be recorded and provided to the absent student.
• Group lessons: Cancellations by students are not allowed. In case of absence, please inform us as soon as possible. Group lessons may be recorded, and the recording will be made available to absent students so they don't miss the lesson.

Additional cancellation requirements:

• Cancellations must be made in writing and sent to the assigned instructor via email.
• Late cancellations or no-shows: Lessons cancelled without the required notice will be charged in full.
• In the case of cancellations initiated by the instructor, a make-up lesson will be arranged. Students can coordinate the new date directly with the instructor.
• We kindly require at least 15 days' notice for cancellations or withdrawal requests from a course to ensure smooth operation and maintain good cooperation with all parties involved.

6. Changes to Teaching Staff

In some cases, we may need to change the assigned teacher due to scheduling or program changes. However, we will always aim to ensure continuity by keeping the same teacher for the duration of your program whenever possible.

7. Use of Materials and Intellectual Property

• All learning materials and lesson content provided by Greek Online Academy are for non-commercial, personal use only.
• Students are given access to applications and platforms where our materials are hosted and managed by us. This access is personal and non-transferable; sharing login details or content with others is strictly prohibited.
• Chats and emails with instructors are used for communication, file sharing, and lesson purposes. Students are not permitted to publish, copy, or distribute any content from these communications, as it is the intellectual property of Greek Online Academy.

8. Testimonials

• We may request testimonials from our students to share on our website or social media.
• Testimonials are published only with the student's explicit written consent, especially if we intend to include their full name or image.

9. Data Protection and Privacy

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws. For full details on how we process your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

10. Fees and Payment

We may occasionally adjust fees to reflect changes in the market, costs, or regulations. Rest assured, any changes won't affect prepaid packages or existing agreements. If new fees apply to new agreements or services (like private lessons), we'll inform you well ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.
